I’m excited.
Lots of exciting things are happening to, for, and around me.
It’s very exciting.
Here’s one of them…

I’ve been invited to be part of the extended team for McGinnis & Co. Comedy Co-Op as they strive for success in the Comedy Coup competition.

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “What the hell does that mean?”
Or something similar. I can’t actually read your mind. That would be creepy. And kind of cool. (But mostly creepy.) But, as you can see, I’ve got a general sense of the question that probably occurred to you when you read that I’ve been invited to be part of the extended team for McGinnis & Co. Comedy Co-Op as they strive for success in the Comedy Coup competition.

So, really, what the hell does that mean?

Short answer: It means that you have the opportunity to support some very funny people as they do some very funny stuff.

Long answer: Comedy Coup is a competition run by the CBC, Just For Laughs Television, and CineCoup. The goal, for them, is to award a $500,000 development deal for a television special to air on the CBC next year. Team entered the competition with a specific concept in mind for their show. Week by week they refine and hone their program through various challenges, while also promoting their pitch through social media. McGinnis & Co Comedy Co-Op is one of the teams competing and it also happens to be the team of which I am a part.

But the best part of all of this is that viewers get to vote at certain stages in the competition.
And when I say “viewers” I mean you.
Although, technically, at this point you are more of a reader than a viewer.
So…. here, view this.
That’s the trailer for the show.

Now view this, the “Meet-The-Team” video. (See if you can spot me.)

And this is the “What-Makes-Us-Different” video.

Now that you’ve viewed those, no one can deny that you are, indeed, a viewer.

A fact which leads us to the point where I ask for your help.
(I’m sure you can figure out where I’m going with this.)

Please vote for us.

That’s it. That’s all I’m asking.

Earlier this week we had a meeting with most of the extended team, some of whom I met for the first time, and sweet frolicking bacon bits, what a funny bunch of people. I am, as I mentioned above, excited about working with these people. There will be an endless stream of laughter and we want to share it with you. I will be one of the writers churning out intelligent and surreal sketch comedy. Soon, a YouTube channel will be launch as the competition continues, and we will have our own contest within a contest to showcase different comedy acts from across Canada.
Basically, if we win, we will bring many, many people with us, and happiness, hilarity, and frivolity will flourish throughout the land.

Right now, right this very minute and only for a couple more days, voting is open for the Top 50. In order to vote, all you have to do is sign up here, and then go here and click on “Vote For This Project.”

If you really want to get neck-deep in the fun, there are various challenges and tasks for fans, which will earn you more votes. But that’s up to you.

So, please, take a moment and check us out. If you like what we’re about, then give us a vote. Or many votes, if you feel so inclined.

And, as always, try to be nice to each other.
